Due to multiple health issues Kirsty has been unable to leave the house for the last 2 years, therefore the garden has become her sanctuary. Kirsty and I spend many hours sat listening to the birds and enjoying the outside. Back earlier this year our garden was destroyed by the storms. Purple Heart Wishes have replaced the gazebo for Kirsty, who would like to say a massive thank you. Currently Kirsty is unwell but once she is feeling a little better she will be able to sit out again, for now she can see the magic of the gazebo and lights from her bed, her smile says it all. Without your help this would not have been possible.
What a great day out for all of us at Alton Towers! Lots of fun. The fast track passes you purchased, really helped us to make the most of our whole day out and were much appreciated as I realise that they were expensive.
We haven’t been here for years and the top 6 rides were incredible. It was lovely to spend some quality time with the kids and their Dad away from home and the usual routines. Both of them were asleep on the car journey home even though they are 16 and 18! 🤣😴 We all went home tired but happy.
Thank you so much Purple Heart Wishes, we all really appreciated the experience and have made some happy memories!
My wife and I applied for a short family break away, as I have major organ failure and am at 'end of life’. Our wish was granted and we were lucky enough to to be able to travel from our home in the North of England to Cornwall, to spend a few days in Newquay, staying in a static caravan with the children.
The holiday site was lovely and although a little hilly for me, I was able to get to the beach and spend time with the kids making memories.
Thank you so much for making this happen.
"We are deeply moved by Purple Heart Wishes plan to grant Natasha’s wish, your outline of the way in which you are granting Natasha wish in such a full way was beyond our expectations.
We are thrilled that the family are going to have this amazing opportunity to make memories by spending this time together. On behalf of the Family Support Team and the wider Dorothy House teams that are working with Natasha thank you so much for all your thoughtfulness that has gone into this gift."
"Thank you so much for purchasing and bringing in the Pandora Pendant and Flowers today, it’s so much appreciated. Steve woke up about an hour ago and the nurses were able to keep him awake for long enough to give the pendant to his wife. A few tears, but she was delighted and I know she has been to the coffee shop and very proudly showed the volunteer her new pendant (she is wearing it).
Thank you so much, I know you understand just how much this means to them both."
"Sue and the team at purple heart wishes couldn’t have done more for our family and my sister Michelle, to make her day special.
We didn’t have to lift a finger on the day, the entire team bent over backwards, and went out of their way to ensure everything went without a hitch.
The venue they chose Crewe Hall was amazing, and much more than we had dared to wish for.
The detail, such as the cakes provided, the memory box for our nephew, and the framed photographs of the day, sent to us as soon as practically possible, are a reflection on how hard the team worked, during, and even after the day to make sure it was special.
We have a lasting memory of the day, that continues to bring us comfort and joy, and will do so for many years to come.”
"We can’t thank the Purple Heart Wishes enough. They were so quick to organise the most amazing holiday we have ever had, and actually our first proper holiday together as a family.
They arranged for us to go to Centre Parc’s in Longford. This time we spent together helped us to forget about our worries and concentrate on each other and make the most wonderful memories that we still talk about.
The fact that it was around Christmas time made it all the more special, with the beautiful light show. The boys are still laughing at the fun we had at the water park. The calming bike rides, no rush just taking it all in with each other. It gave me the inner strength to fight this illness, showing me that we are all too busy filling our days and don’t make enough time for the things and people we take for granted.
This time we got to spend together has made me want to have more time to make more memories. Thank you Purple Heart Wishes and for keeping with me to make sure it happened. Words just don’t describe what this did for us as a family!"
"My husband of twenty two years Darren was diagnosed aged 55 with Stage 4 incurable esophageal cancer in May 2021, which had already spread across his body. After 4 rounds of chemotherapy a further CT Scan identified that the cancer had now sadly metastasis (spread) into his brain, and next was a gruelling regime of radiotherapy treatment over Christmas, which really knocked him sideways.
In December, I had enquired through the Purple Hearts Wishes website to see if any support was available to help Darren and I get away together as his radiotherapy sessions finished and before any further treatment was proposed, and after a lovely chat with their Wish Granter Mark, we started to put together a plan to hopefully return to a special place where we had spent many weekend breaks together over the years - York.
Mark thought of and arranged everything and along with the hotel came up with an amazing break where we were greeted and treated like absolute VIP’s!! Mark was in touch every step of the way and has become a much valued friend. Both he and the Purple Hearts Wishes charity helped bring some much needed magic into our lives when everything felt scary and overwhelming, and enabled the love of my life and I to spend quality time together.
I plan to arrange a fundraiser later in the year to help raise the profile of this amazing charity, but in the meantime I would like to thank Mark and all the team at Purple Hearts Wishes for all they did for us."
